The historic San Quintín region on Baja’s Transpeninsular
Highway is a unique setting. Twelve extinct volcanic cones ring a huge bay that provides sheltered anchorage for sailboats
and sport fishing boats. Hundreds of miles of shoreline around San Quintín Bay and along the Pacific Coast are waiting to
be explored. Thousands of migrating geese fill San Quintín Bay in the winter months, and more than 100 bird species have been
observed around the bay and the valley. Tuna are abundant from summer through fall, and marlin are caught every year. In winter,
gray whales migrate along the coast and, sometimes, even wander into the bay.
The San Quintín region is today heavily
agricultural. Gasoline, groceries and other supplies are easily available in the towns of San Quintín and Lázaro Cárdenas.

September, 2005, Campo De Lorenzo received government authorization to open its own private air strip . Now, Campo De Lorenzo "Skypark" is only about an hour flight
from the border. The air strip federal designated ID is LZB, with runway 28 or 10.
Although there are only a few
sites available in Campo de Lorenzo, the new "Skypark" area consists of over 40 additional acres that are currently
being developed. The first phase of development includes 26 waterfront lots. Lot dimensions will accomodate residential homes
with attached hangars or large RV/boat garages.
Subsequent phases include additional waterfront lots for residential
construction, a designated area for hangar/storage garages and some limited commercial development.
